i've seen several questions about people asking for users on here to pray for them. the users then proceed to write out a prayer to lord for that person in their reply. so i'm wondering if he sits there and reads the prayers off YA, and forums, message boards, etc. or does he prefer them in the form of email like in bruce almighty?

I believe that those who believe in a higher power feel that their higher power is everywhere, including on these forums. I hope the higher power is a good one, lol, otherwise we may all find a shoe print on our butts.

However, as to posting prayers, I do not feel comfortable with that. I believe the Christians were instructed to be careful of public prayer less they seem proud and when in public to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Seems like a pretty harmless prayer, whether you believe or not. It does not curse anyone or put them down or put down what they believe in.

I do hope that Christians and others who come here who have a higher power will make note though that not everyone wants to be included in their prayers and really, you do not have to type a prayer out in a little box for it to be effective.

human beings are pushing the thumbs up and thumbs down button, not God. There are issues that i think of God chooses to not difficulty with as a results of fact its not worth his time. Like this. dealing with our questions and picking which of them he likes and dislikes? He has extra substantial issues to be doing. to boot if God became extremely controlling the rankings right here, then he would not have given the guy who mentioned God would not exist a thumbs up. No i don't think of God is in our recommendations. There are too many ill human beings accessible, for God to be in those recommendations. P.S. if God became examining yahoo solutions it may be to lol on the different loopy issues on right here

Personally, I try not to bother Him with too much stuff, like a football win or passing a test. I wonder whatever happened to "Thy will be done" since that would cover about anything I would pray for anyway. Maybe if we stopped petitioning Him with the small stuff, He could work on the poor, the sick and the lame.
If we gave Him some peace, would He give us some?

Do you assume that God is somehow separate from the one asking for the prayer and the one writing it.

Not likely.

If God is all-knowing, He is "aware" of everything written here, but it would just be a metaphor to suggest He was sitting down and looking at them.

Are you a Taoist? I would assume that those prayers are what I refer to as mental masturbation.
