wow - this needs to be sorted a.s.a.p
you need to be firm with him, and put him to bed in his own room.
he needs a routine thats consistent.
make his room a good place to be in - stickers, pictures etc..
for a 2 yr old, he should be sleeping from at least 7 p.m
reduce afternoon naps / morning lay ins to make him tired.
normal routine would be dinner, bath, story, bed
your gonna have a few rough nights but it will all be worth it. just be consistant, put him to bed and then do not change your mind - no matter how hard he yells.
try putting some soft music on in his room, classical is good - and a night light for security

You need an earlier bed time schedule. He should be in his bed by 8:00. Read a story, Kiss him good night and leave the room. When he gets up take him back and put him in bed. If he's really bad about staying in bed then you can sit on the floor not in his bed. No eye contact or talking. Tell him you will sit there until he falls asleep. The main thing is that he stays in bed. It should only take a couple of nights but he'll realize that your not going to give in. Stay strong and stick with it.

Set a routine and stick to it. Bath time, into his pjs, read him a story and then off to bed. no arguments, no negotiating, no sleeping on the couch, just off to his own bed. Ignore his words after you say goodnight and keep putting back to bed if he gets up. It may take a while but he'll get the message that nothing he does will change what's happening and he'll stop wasting his energy.

I know it sounds easier than what it's going to be, but you just need to make him go in his bed... My almost 5 yr old son has a bedtime of 8 pm... Sometimes he's so tired he goes in his bed at 7:30.. He has been in this routine since he was 1 mth... Just make him go in his room at 7:30... Read him a book and tell him that he has to stay in his bed... It might take a couple nights, but he'll learn.. Just be consistent about it!! Good luck to you

This is what I did. The normal routine, dinner, bath, read, bed. Then I sat. The first night, next to his bed, with my back to him, so that he did not get out of bed. (If he did, I would not look at him, or talk to him just picked him up and put him back in his bed). The next night I moved closer to the door, gradually closer every night until he no longer needed me.
This process takes about 2 weeks, at two hours every night, but SO worth it!

Make sure he is up by 3pm from his last nap.
Brush his teeth a hour hour before bed.
No sugary treats in the evening.
Try putting him down 15 minutes earlier every second day- continue that until you have him down to the time you want.
No TV - do quiet activities. Reading - coloring.
Good luck.
