I guess we have a little bit of a "generation gap" going on here...because I am not familiar with the show you are referring to!!! I am 55 and my youngest son is 28 years old. He has loved music all his life and is (locally!) successful playing in a band. He is ALSO writes poetry, and songs...some of them are a little on the "dark side" ...but quite good. He has a very successful and stable career in the medical field.... he is well mannered and compassionate to "man kind".
I have always been a BIG FAN of "horror flicks". I love EVERYTHING about the occult, posession, demons, vampires, the scarier the better!!! Jack Nicholson, Robert Englund,Stephen King and Dean Koontz are some of my heroes!
When my son was TWO years old...he would sit "mesmerized" in front of the tv with me while I was watching these "scary movies"... He would never act scared, he would never have bad dreams, he never would "act out"...and he was a very mild mannered baby!!! I had concerns as his mother, just like you that maybe this was not a healthy thing....MY MOTHER and EVERYONE else who knew this would ALWAYS tell me that this was "damaging" him....but I didn't listen, because to observe him, you would have thought he was watching Sesame Street!
So I say to you...YOU know YOUR child...if she does NOT seem to be affected by what ever this program is...then let her watch!
She will grow up to be the person that she is meant to be and her personality and behavior won't change just because she is watching some sort of violence on tv!!! She will STILL be a responsible citizen, and she will have the qualities and good moral judgements that you instill in her as her mother!
Don't listen to others...you be the judge!!!
You are NOT a horrible parent!!!
Good luck...and "happy watching" to you and your daughter!!!
ps...my son and I STILL enjoy watching a good horror flick together!!!! lol!

Ask a stupid question.....
I think you're irresponsible. I would NEVER let my kid watch Jackass or Wildboys. They do a lot of stuff involving nakedness, eating gross crap, and stupid stunts. If your kid is not old enough to read the "WARNING" at the beginning and actually understand what it means, she shouldnt watch it. YOU are the parent, and you should be concerned with what she watches. At 4, EVERYTHING influences your daughter whether you are aware of it or not. I dont even let my 5 yr old daughter watch MTV because of the content of the music videos. That's why they invented parental controls. Why else do u think the show only comes on at night when the kids are in bed? Because theyre not supposed to watch that kinda stuff. Get some common sense & act like a MOM

Okay, it really depends on the situation. If you allow her to watch it and you don't talk about it afterwards then she is going to copy what they do... but if you are a good mother and you watch it with her and tell her why their behaviors are bad, dangerous, or why she shouldn't copy the men on TV then it may not be very bad. Be very careful. Almost anything is okay for a child to watch as long as the parents are around to help them understand what they are watching. It's the neglectful parents who screw up their children by not talking about TV after watching it.

I think it's somewhat strange to allow a four year old to watch something like that. Would I say you're a bad mom? No! My son is eight months old, and he watches anything that I do. I don't normally watch things that are too inappropraite, though. But like you said, your daughter behaves. So, what are you worried about exactly? Who cares if people think you're a bad mom for it. People will think that if they really want to no matter what you're doing. People think I'm a bad mom for giving my son blankets. There's nothing you can do about someone else's opinion. I know it's hard to ignore sometimes, but that's really what you need to do.

Look, You are certainly NOT a bad parent!!! We all probably let our kids watch things they shouldn't be... I wouldn't let my kids watch that, but that's just me, and you should do what you feel is best.. I'm sure that if you're daughter started mimmicking everything she saw then you probably wouldn't let her watch it anymore.. Don't worry about it... you're the parent and what you say goes.. Good luck to you

It is probably okay if you are watching it with her to explain any questions she may have. If she starts acting the stunts out you will have to cut her off. At 4 she doesnt really know the difference between cartoons and reality anyway.

Youre not a horrible parent. Horriblle parents deprie their childern of love, affection, shelter, food, etc things that are needed. However I dont think that it is age appropiate. I dont think that at age 4 that they can comprehend that it isnt real and appropiate to do. She ma act different when she is around you compared to class mates or teachers, (if in kindergarten or daycare)ask others how she acts when she is not around you.

i don't know....tough call. 4 is old enough to absorb and understand what she is watching, so i probably wouldn't let my 4 year old watch it.
are you a horrible parent?? no.
shoudl you let her continue to watch it....probably not, but i hate trying to tell someone else how to parent.
i just hope our kids aren't playing together some day and she tells my son to do some stunt and he gets seriously injured.
that's all.
take care:)

While this is not what I would let my 4 year old watch its not sooo horrible either. No you are not a bad parent just different from some others. If she likes it and you dont think its bad then let her watch. Its your business not ours. It certainly wont hurt her that much.
