There is no good way to know other than ask. I had a close friend come out to me after 10+ years and you'd never have known, he is as masculine as the next guy.

Well it's easier here in the Philippines because I think most gay people here still have the idea that they should be more feminine. It's so much more difficult to tell in the USA because they act and dress just like straight men.

If you yourself are gay, you will know how to pick up on the signs, (direct prolonged eye-contact, similar interests (theater, fashion, divas, etc) If you are not getting any clues he's probably not gay.
If you are a straight person trying to tell if he is gay or not, you're going to have a very difficult time unless he acts like Jack on Will and Grace.

No way to tell...
I know some straight guys who'll tease a mate pretending they're gay. You'd have about the same chance to "guess" the religion of a stranger in the car next to yours.

See if he gives off a flirtatious vibe. Observe him around women and see if he seems interested in them.
