lance it?? I've got this infected cuticle and its like a red bump on my finger and I need to get it drained by a doctor, but I'm REALLY scared!!! Will they numb it before they do anything to it??

Yes, they will. They usually use a topical spray to numb the skin a bit before using a needle to numb. A good Doctor can numb you up with little to no pain from the needle. Do not let a little temporary pain keep you from seeking medical help if you need it. Good luck!

check with the doctor first, but there is creams you can buy that you rub in, then about 30 mins later, that area is completely numb. i know my mum put it on me when i had a blood test when i was about 6. and it worked.

but make sure that it wont interfere with the lancing, and anyway, the doctor will either put/inject stuff on the finger, or if he doesnt, ask him/her.
