I have a lot of respect for Bernard Hopkins and when he retires he will certainly be a Hall of Famer and one of the all time great middleweight champs. Carlos Monzon in my opinion was the second best middleweight ever (tied with Hagler) behind Sugar Ray Robinson. He had height, a long reach, a sledgehammer jab and a pulverizing right hand. He also had a great chin and did not lose a fight the last 9 years or so over his career beating the likes or Bennie Briscoe, Rodrigo Valdez twice, Emile Griffith, and Nino Benvenuti. As good as Monzon was however, I don't see this as an easy fight for him as Hopkins is very clever and and a good puncher. I think that Monzon dictates the pace of the bout with his jab and counters well with his right hand against Hopkins who also lands some good punches. In the end Monzon wins the decision in a very exciting bout.

Other than the late rounds against Roy Jones Jr and since he's turned 40, when have we ever seen Hopkins get hit cleanly with a punch? And when he did, how well did he take it?

This would be a very close decision for Hopkins. 12 or 15 rounds simply because not only is Hopkins clever, he can adapt to any style placed in front of him.

Wouldn't be surprised if it ended in a draw. Neither would be stopped.....think about it.....they didn't have their string of title defenses for no reason.
