try a shock collar that works with a wire fence. I got one for our huskys too and you can make the charge to the collar big or small. We started it big and then after a few weeks gradually lowered it, now we have their regular collars on them and they stay with in the boundry line that we created for them.

Don't chain your dog outside. If you place him outside because you are going away, I suggest a crate (in the house). Your dog will feel secure and safe. Take your pain in the hiney for a walk. Treat your dog with respect and love. What would you do if you were chained up outside?

You must work with your dog. If you want to put him outside so he can be outdoors for awhile, I suggest working with him first. Sit with him while he is chained up. Talk and play with him. Teach one word commands and give him a treat when he does as you requested.

The best money I ever spent (besides my dogs) was for a fence to keep them inside and other dogs out! However, if you cannot afford a fence, or you rent property, have you tried the airline cable type leashes? When I rented a place, my dog could snap leashes too. I bought one of those thick airline cable ones and she didn't have any trouble after that. Huskies need to run. They need plenty of exercise. Please make sure you are giving them a lot of walks on a leash or runs in an enclosed dog park. Good luck!

Chaining dogs, in my opinion, is cruel. If you have to put the dog out then build a kennel or better yet take the dog for lots of walks.
How would you like to be chained up?

Firstly I hope he is neutered. Unneutered dogs tend to stray much more than unneutered ones. If he is not fixed I would recommend doing so ASAP.

Secondly, he breaks his chain? Instead of a chain why don't you set up a cable tie down system? The cables are much sturdier than a cheap chain (which you must be using if he keeps breaking it).

Keep in mind that Huskies were bred to run hundreds of miles a day, pulling hundreds of pounds in sub zero weather. They need a TON of exercise. Take him on long runs, let him play with other dogs, take him swimming, make sure his mind stays stimulated by giving him something to do. Try training him for weight pull competitions. Even if you never compete it will make him feel like he has a job to do. Also, dogs are very sociable PACK animals who need to be INSIDE with their FAMILY (aka: pack)

well you could try a kennel big enough for your dog, or if you dont have a fence build one high enough to where he cant jump this. i know from experence you will want to do this it really pays off... the same this has happened with my dog. or you could use a shock collar that keeps shocking him until he comes back into the perimeter... hope that was helpful

You ask how do you keep a dog at home. That answer is very simple you musy love and care for him/her as you do yourself you must feed bathe groom and give this animal the same loving that you would accept as a human from another human and if you apply these things daily tyou will have no problem in keeping your dog at home. And never forget to let him/her excerise daily as well do provide all this and call it a loving home and they will love you forever

Don't leave your dogs outside unattended.

I know Huskies prefer the outside most times, but if you can't fence your yard or get an invisible fence, then you cannot leave your dogs unattended unless you want them dead.

Since it is a male dog he is probley looking for a female dog. I would take him to the vet. and get him neutered. I male dog would get out of the yard for that some reason. hope that helps some.
