Probably not.

Actually, that is a deep philosophical question. Could any intelligence make something more intelligent than itself? If so, that would start a chain reaction of increasing intelligence without limit. We make the robot smarter than us, then the robot makes another robot smarter still, and THAT robot makes an even smarter one and so on to infinity. I do not believe such a thing could happen, so I do not believe we humans could ever make a robot smarter than we are, and a robot dumber than we are is not a threat.

Artificial Intelligence is brought on by learning. If we showed something violence it would learn violence. It will only rebel if we are not good teachers. By giving machinery the ability to think on actions, and learn from them, we create a species. The conscience is only developed through the learning of right and wrong. So, it all depends on what we expose it to, doesn't it?

Yes. Liberals have such a demon growing in them. They threaten everything we cherish.

I certainly hope so. If the robots want it more then they deserve to win.
