I agree Ebay is the way to go. I just got married this October in Hawaii and found an incredible deal for my fiance. I bought her a a new with tags ivory Scott McClintock dress for a beach wedding. Including the shipping I think I spent about $35. We then spent about $50 for minor alteration and dry cleaning. What more can you ask for for $85.

EBay is your best bet for a more modern dress, lots of consignment stores and thrift stores have dress from the 80's in them. You can also try the newspaper but it's a little dangerous- never go to look at a dress by yourself.
eBay would be you best bet, you can just browse without signing up and see if you find anything you like. I got my tiara, shoes and all my accessories off of there for 75% less then what David's bridal wanted.

there's a fashionable resale keep in north Houston that actual receives some wedding ceremony gowns each and every now and then, also promenade outfits. they are continuously warm sellers. you may also keep an eye fixed on Craigslist. That way you've a chance to seem at them or perhaps try them on previously paying for. i'd be hectic about ordering from the web and dropping my funds. i recognize that's complicated to believe, yet there are brides who purchase outfits that can not be lower back, then their mom would not like the gown or they replace their minds. They get yet another gown and performance a superbly solid one to promote. Or someone who breaks the engagement and would not opt for to maintain the gown round for thoughts. in case you retain searching, you may typically hit upon much.

for my moms wedding she was on a really tight budget, she bought her dress at a bridal shop but it was a bridesmaid dress! It was white and very pretty and she only paid $80. Just a thought try looking for bridesmaid dresses, there are plenty that are white.
