My boyfriend is with his family for the holidays in another state. We didn't plan on talking and neither of us has called, except to say Merry Christmas. Is this normal, or do we not care about each other?

from the perspective of the "boyfriend" in your situation, every year my friends ask me what plans i have for the holidays, and i give them the same answer. "i wish somebody would take an axe, split me down the middle." because it feels like tug of war. last year i spent the holidays with the family, and they demand so much time that i couldn't even get a hold of the phone to chat with my gf for but a few minutes. naturally, she wasn't too happy about being left alone for the holidays. (her family spends the holidays way too far away). this year i spent the holidays with the gf, and oh boy my parents sounded like they don't ever want to see me or talk to me or have anything to do with me.
believe me when i tell you, the holidays can be a very very stressful and demanding time. i wouldn't put too much blame on him. maybe next year you two can see his family together, and then see your family together afterwards? good luck!

You guys should always talk. Its about constant communication. I live with my guy and I speak to him more than twice a day. It should be more during the holidays! You should know that!! Happy Holidays and good luck!

You can only base this on how you feel. And how he feels. If the two of you are comfortable with it, then it is not a problem. It is he holidays and he is probably very busy with family and family engagements. It is all based on your feelings. No one else can judge what is ok in your relationship. God bless****

Question: Why isn't your boyfriend with you? If I were suspicious, I'd think he was seeing someone else under the cover of spending a week with his "family".

personally i wood say that's not normal, I'm thinking about my boy always, even when I'm at wk, i ring him on my breaks to tell him i love him, we live 2getha 2. if we were away from each other we wood def ring all the time epically to say good nite, good morning and prob during the day too!!!! you's should prob ask each other if its really Wat you want coz its really a bit weird not to talk, especially wen yous are used to talking all the time...you no wat i mean....

hmm, it depends on your situation.if you normally dont talk that much and dont call all the time like other couples, then theres nothing you should worry about.
