it varies from person to person, the only thing I know is that birth control pills have various side effects: weight gain, headache, nausea just to name a fill, now I never heard of them clearing up your skin.

I work in family planning. It depends on the female if pills will clear up skin. Sometimes pimples happen because of a hormone imbalance. For some, pills will help to regulate those hormones and for others it doesn't. For some females, pills will give them pimples because of the hormone fluctuation.

Best advise: try it. Any pill will work. Some (like Orthotricyclen) were smart enough to market the pill as an acne medication. There's not one that's better than another. Just tell your doctor you want to get on a pill. Good luck.

Well, birth control pills are hormones so when you take them, you are interfering with your hormonal system. That means your facial hair and your zits might disappear but when you stop the pill, they will come right back out. Also, the pill will aid in water retention, you might put a few kilos on and your libido will be lowered as well. It has its pros and cons but what is most important it's that you can't just take any pill over the counter. What works for me might not work for you. Please see your doctor. And just maybe, instead of getting on the pill, he might give you a local antibiotic cream or something and it will work out. Also note that if u're still a teenager, acne is normal then. You just have to be patient and take your pain as it comes, like we all did at that age. Good luck

Birth control pills cannot clear your skin instead you stand a high chance of acquiring cancer when used for a long time. It is advisable to contact a skin specialist in your area for a safe way of clearing your skin without causing any harm to your skin.

I have heard that this is true. However, these pills can also increase your chances for fatal blood clots. It might be safer, and easier, to ask your doctor for a prescription. One that worked great for us was erythromycin. It looks like a little roll-on deodorant and it costs less than $20. My daughter and I both use it. Just remember to moisturize often or it will make your skin itchy.

It does diffrent things to diffrent individuals. Me, When I was on the pill before I had my daughter it caused me to clear up. But now that I'm back on the pill it causes me to have to be extremely careful with my face and skin. I have to use the Stridex Peroxide pads all the time. So it just differs.
