The Bible: the testament of Chrstianity, confuses me. It was written by man, not god. Jesus was already dead when it was compiled, John the Baptist didn't put the final touches on it, It isn't bound in the skin of baptised babies. Why do we care so much about what a book says? And why are so many people so determined to uphold the unreliable words of man? I'm confused, please help.

If the words in the bible are considered transferred by divine inspiration, then can we not assume that all books are in the same way inspired? What about the Koran, or the Satanic Bible? WHy aren't those books written with the guidance of a divine power?

We do not worship the book, but the principals behind the book. The words were written by man, however this is the only words and stories we have of the "chosen one," so we look to the book for guidance.

I do not worship the book. I worship the God featured in it. And I look to it as a guide on how to live my life. Written by man or God matters little to the message that was given...love one another, treat all as you would have them treat you, judge not lest ye be judged. Why would that be any less important to follow if a mere man wrote it? Would it make it less worthy of following? Many people follow the words of man because they make since to them and the bible is no different. The only exception is that the words in the bible were given to man through divine inspiration. John the baptist was dead by the time the bible was completed and could not have put any final touches on it. That was a different John, a disciple of Christ. Why would it matter if it was bound in baptised baby skin. That would be an unholy thing to do with a holy book.

I don't think anyone worships a book (the Bible). I believe we treat it with respect and reverence. I feel that this book, along with other "holy" books within other religious groups, may serve as a guide on how to achieve a higher purpose and encourage each of us to strive for that higher purpose. For instance, if you really, really just read the words of Jesus in the New Testament, and rid yourself of prejudice about "religion", you will find some great words to live by, such as loving others; not judging others;how to handle strife in your daily life. You can also find the same messages in all other spiritual guides in other belief systems. Release the prejudice and the dogma, and read for yourself, then compare. You will have answered your own question(s).

The Bible is not a book made by man. It was God inspired. God put the words into the writer, and he was like a vessle for putting those words down.
The Bible is a guideline for living a holy life according to what God wants us to do. We don't worship the Bible. We don't worship any book. We worship the one who made the book, and gave us the book so that we could read it, and understand it, so that we can know him better.

A man didnt just decide to write a book one day, long ago b4 the bible was written, wen God wanted to contact his men he would talk to them in a dream or send angels or even talk to them as they were awake, when the bible was written God guided the prophets to write the bible so that it would no have any mistakes in it. The bible is for us, it is a way of communicating with god, a way to build up our spiritual understanding, i know you don't understand but one day you will, just have faith in the Lord because he is looking over you right now and he will always be with you!

Man wrote the Bible under God's inspiration. Much of the Bible was written before Jesus was born. It predicted His being born and the life He lived. It is accurate in history and it's scientific knowledge. I don't worship the book, only Jesus.

I do not worship the Bible, but I will answer the question in your "ADDITIONAL DETAILS:"
There are other things, books, etc., that are inspired. However, we need to be aware of the source of their inspiration, for it may be Satanic. As the NWT renders 1-John 4:1-6
"Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
You gain the knowledge of the inspired expression from God by this: Every inspired expression that confesses Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh originates with God, but every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.
You originate with God, little children, and you have conquered those persons, because he that is in union with you is greater than he that is in union with the world. They originate with the world; that is why they speak what proceeds from the world and the world listens to them. We originate with God. He that gains the knowledge of God listens to us; he that does not originate with God does not listen to us. This is how we take note of the inspired expression of truth and the inspired expression of error."

First of all, we don't worship the book, we worship the God that inspired that book. They whole bible is God-inspired, which means that He spoke to the men writing these books, and told them what to write. So, in essence, it is God writing it through these men. That is why the bible is so important.
