I have given him hints I think he knows my friend got him to dance with me at this disco but sometimes I don't really think he is interested in me. I really want to get to know him as a bit more than...friends. Please help me to get to know hiim better!

YOU ask HIM if he wants to go see {movie} or ask if he has seen the coming attractions for {movie} which will make it easy for him to expand into a conversation and you can make it easier for him to ask.....

Well, you should casually ask him "do you want to hang out sometime?" or maybe be like "How about we go to the movies this weekend?" Depends on what you want to do. But I think you should be straight-forward and tell this guy you like him. He may feel the same way, you never know.
