I don't believe in church just God, I'll curse out a religious person just as fast as I will a atheist because they are both ignorant to me.

Friend, here is one Born Again Christian that can not be offended too easily, I listern to my pastor, Because he is reading from the bible, & I follow everything he says, Unless I am in the bathroom, I can think on my own. Many people on this site wants some proof what the Bible says, Therefore I give them bible, If it is my own Ideals, they will fail, Just as your own ideal to get on this site trying to aggravate people, Yes I can think on my own, Now you ask can I answer your question, Yes, But 99% of the questions on here is of no benefit to anyone, only to try to feed a spirit that someone has, < Now you said people want my opionion, Well my opionions goes back into the Bible., So now Do I need your ideals to live my life by, NO., You call us offensive, That is no better than you being defensive about anything we say. Now do you have a harder question for us. Oh yes, I can wait, I forgot, You are so defensive, that you may need to dry the tears from your eyes, Next time make your questions & statements harder, A 8 yrs. Old could have answered your question.

I DO NOT parrot anyone. I use what I have learned by studying and praying. I also will not be offensive to you as I know you do not understand what I am saying. When I witness for Christ the Word of God is my "manual" to go by. How else can I use it. I will give my own opinion, but it will be what I personally have grown to know through studying. I cannot change the Truth as then it would be a lie. Yes I have brains of my own, and I would like to think that I use it for this when the occasion presents itself. A personal witness for the Lord by the experiences I have had is powerful. I cannot and will not though waste my time if no one wants to hear them. And your part about the Pastors are correct. There is a lot of Spiritual Ignorance in the church today. God has said though that ("judgment begins at the house of the Lord") paraphrased for simplicity

Well I for one do not parrot what my pastor says as I do not have one per se.I quote from scriptures only when it particularly fits the question being asked. If it is a question that requires personal opinion I give it. I do not get offended by people like you because to be ofeended I would have to care about your opinion and since I don't know you well enough to care one way or the other, I do not mind because you do not matter. See, free thinking at it's finest and scientific too...mind over matter.

If Christians are parroting their pastors they shoulldn't do that. But using the Bible is totally different. The Bible is the Word of God, given to us by divine revelation and is the foundation for all that we believe. People want our opinions because they can argue with that, since we all have opinions. But they can't argue when God speaks to them. They can only reject what God says and then face Him in a coming day. Our opinions should be based on the Bible.

The idea is not necessarily parroting. If you are familiar with the idea of assimilation and accommodation you will realize that everyone does this, not just Christians. Children do it with their parents, young adolescents with television and older adults with whatever belief system they find worthy of following, whether it be social, religious, environmental and so on. The bible is God's word to us and all man for that fact. It is a Christians reverence for God to understand God's word and apply it to our life. We may not agree on exactly what a verse might mean to an individual, but that is where you use your mind and assert for yourself through scripture, what that verse means. I do quote the Bible, and I do often speak for myself. Explain how Christians are offensive? While I think my pastor might have some very insightful things to say, I only see him once a week for an hour and a half. The rest of my week is not dependent on what he has taught in that one hour period.

Christian who parrot others do so because either they are lazy and don't read the Bible or they are posers. As for quoting the Bible, true Christians believe it is the final authority in their lives. It is where they form their opinions. And yes, the people in this forum, Christians and non, do get very offensive when people don't agree with them. So why don't we agree that we disagree and get on with our lives?

I think for myself, thank you.

I quote the Bible because I believe it to be true. If I didn't, I wouldn't.

And the LAST thing I would do is accept something as true just because some pastor said it. Pastors are human too. If I quote a pastor it is because I agree with what was said, not because that person is a pastor.

I do not parrot my Pastor at all, in fact I disagree with him at times because he is human and therefore fallible....why to I quote the Bible...well, it is the inspired word of God and therefore infallible....if you take offense....I would look at your own issues...and if you don't care if you offend others....once again, seems like a personal problem to me....

I do think on my own - the Bible is my guide - not the Pastor. I take what the Pastor says and compare it to God's Word - then I know if it is the truth or not. Jesus Christ is my guide, my life, my Lord - I can trust Him and Him alone - not men. After salvation, you get spiritual eyes that can clearly see spiritual things - until that happens, you cannot discern spiritual matters and will not be interested in them. I pray you find the Truth - the Person, Jesus Christ. Blessings.

I am never the first to be offended but rude is rude. We just quote what the Bible says. It is our religion. Instead of focusing on Christians and why some make it bad for others,,,read the Bible to understand.
