We have been together for 10yrs he has a drug problem but is doing very well to kick the habit I love him and want to support him in his life but everyone in my family thinks I am wasting my time what should I do?

You're the one in the relationship, not your family. Although it helps to listen to them sometimes but they don't know your boyfriend as well as you do plus you say that he is doing his best to kick the habit. I think things are starting to look up here, so it won't hurt to support your boyfriend because he needs you by his side during a difficult time such as kicking a bad habit. Good luck!

A friend once told me that the only reason why we stay in a relationship is because somehow we are still getting something out of it. If you assess your relationship and you find out that you are not benefiting from it, and that you're the only one who gives, then I don't think it's worth it. No matter how much you love someone, the first thing you should do is to treat yourself with some respect. Your family loves you and I'm sure they only want what's best.

If he is kicking the habit and you love him, give him the benefit of the doubt but set yourself and him a time limit.
Sometimes our love blinds us to the things that others can see from outside the relationship.
Set a timne limit eg 6 months and then reevaluate and maybe make a hard decision then.

ur parents r right ur wasting ur time but the problem is that u stil love him y?
i dont think that u should stay wiz him coz if it is likely for him to hit u then i dont think that u should stay wiz him.
u need to think abt it more and the ways u can help him out without u getting youself hurt in any way.
book an apointment for him to go to an especialist when ur ready and u thought abt it.

Look to your own problem, co-dependency!
Why do people stay with abusers, alkies and druggies. As long as they have someone to lean on they don't need to change! They should get professional help. You are condoning his behaviour just by staying! Do both of you a favour by ditching the jerk!

If u love him & he loves u & he is tryin rlly hard 2 stop his problem then stay by his side & support him.
But only if u think he is worth ur time & if u think he would do the same for u.

If you truly love him, you will stay. He needs your support during this hard time. If you leave him, he will go back to drugs.

It depends how long he has been into it!Also depends on the way he is treating you...that means how much negative influence does he have towards your relationship?It all depends...but basically get the hint by respecting yourself!Don't forget that you deserve to be happy no matter what!

if you love him you will stay with him because people can tell you what to do but the final decision is up to to leave him or stay with him,but it also what you value the most your family or your boyfriend.you have 2 choices either you leave your boyfriend and make your family happy or you stay with your boyfriend and make yourself happy so the chice is up to you sweetheart.hope this will help.
