LDRs take a lot of work on both parts. They take a lot of trust, communication, and love to work out. You have to be creative with your love because of the distance so it makes it more exciting. Suprise them with a hand-written scented letter than contains a love poem. Take a picture with a camera phone or webcam and email it to them. Leave them a voicemail if possible and fill them in on the important things that happened in your day. Plan for when you get together and make a list of things you would like to do when you see them. My boyfriend and I went to the same restuarant in different states and had a date over the phone. He even sent me gift cards so I didn't have to pay for it. They can absolutely work, but know they are hard work and a lot of commitment.

I didn't but now that I have met the guy I want to marry one day I have changed my mind. We are 600kms apart for the next 2 years. I've gone out long enough with him to give the long distance thing a chance.

Yes it does...but it requires hard work for both parties. You both need to be on the same page!

While my DH and I were dating, we lived 3 hrs away from each other. (I met him in his city)...we thrived on phone calls, IM, texting and weekend visits. We saw each other just about every weekend...and missed each other like crazy on the ones (very few) that we didn't.

We dated...and he proposed after 6mos....we married, one year later from the day we met.

We were very very close to each other. We became each other's confidant. It can work....you just need to continue to grow with each other...not apart. Which requires constant communication...and we have found that living long distant...made our relationship grow quicker and stronger because we relied so much on communication.

We've been married for 8months....living together now for 10months. It was a dream for the both of us...to wake up with each other every morning.

Yes, I definitely believe in long distance relationships. They can and will work as long as you make them work. They do take a little extra work, but it can be worth it in the long run!!

That's the best kind for both involved. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. You must be a secure and open minded person to make it work. For me it has been wonderful.

yes i do! though i know it can be quite painful but absence sure makes the heart fonder..as long as both parties are willing to commit and keep the love going on, i'm sure it will last..afterall, sometimes i really think it's nice to miss someone..=)

No, I don't, because how can you have anything but a casual relationship with someone you never see on a regular basis?
