There is no one zip code for the United States. Each town has its own zip code, and most cities have multiple zip codes. You can look up a zip code by going to:

The U.S. has a 5 digit postal code. In general, it goes north to south, east to west, so the northeast, such as MA, starts with 0, NY starts with 1, DC starts with 2, FL starts with 3, MI starts with 4, TX has 7, and CA has 9. From there, each state has a couple of second numbers, like AR has 75 and 76.Then the last 3 designate which specific city, township, or locality. There is a 4 digit extension which designates you further.
