It isn't about dying healthy. It's about good quality of life while you are still alive. The healthier you are, especially in your later years, the more you can do and experience. I'd rather spend my last ten years experiencing all the world has to offer than lying around in a hospital or nursing home.

Not necessarily to die healthy, but to live healthy until you die. My opinion is that with proper diet and exercise you might avoid some of the diseases of "old age" such as cardiovascular disease, degenerative bone loss, etc. and live happy and healthier in your golden years instead of complaining about all of your aches and pains.

On one hand you're right. We WANT to be thin because we feel we NEED to get thin, because all the medias tell us to.
But don't you think being comfortable in your own skin and doing your favourite sport are the most important things? In my case: my body weight is just on the border of being overweight (according to my doctor) so I should be carefull what I'm eating and when I feel like it - a set of minor exercises. But since the onlt sport I love is swimming and I love sweets, my weight is steady :)

we`re going to die no matter what, but if you exercise you will have more energy as you age and less chance of body brake down.so in your older age you can still do it to it, when those who never exercise are messed up with a dozen different ailments.
also eating the right foods has alot to do with good health...

Very interesting way to look at it, but I disagree. If your goal is death then why exercise at all? I think the point of exercising is to be able live LONGER.

The point of exercise is the benefits youre body gets from it while youre alive. Stronger heart, less fat, strong muscles, etc etc.

no one dies healthy, unless the are in a car crash....the point is to live a long and healthy life, big problem in this country with fat people........many health problems come from being fat and if you are fat it is no ones fault but your own.........if you don't want to live a long and healthy life, sit on the couch and eat junk everyday and soon your body will be full of fat and your heart will just stop beating........is that what you want?

I look at it as putting off death for awhile...

Granted, I don't exercise nearly enough, so I'm not doing a very good job of it.

If you exercise, and give up drinking, smoking & sex, you may or may not live longer, but it will seem like it.
And if you bang on about your diet & exercise regime, it will certainly ensure that other people think you are going on & on & on & on & on.......
