i need a detailed recipe, since i am a beginner. i have NEVER made it before. so... please try to make it as straight forward and simple to follow as possible.

4 cups milk
5 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
12 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups light rum
4 cups light cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
DIRECTIONS
Combine milk, cloves, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and cinnamon in a saucepan, and heat over lowest setting for 5 minutes. Slowly bring milk mixture to a boil.
In a large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together until fluffy. Whisk hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs. Pour mixture into saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes, or until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil. Strain to remove cloves, and let cool for about an hour.
Stir in rum, cream, 2 teaspoon vanilla, and nutmeg. Refrigerate overnight before serving.

Ingredients:
4 serving-size pkg. instant vanilla pudding
2 eggs beaten
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 cups milk
nutmeg


Directions:

Using mixer on medium speed, combine pudding mix, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Gradually add milk, beating until thoroughly blended. Chill. Sprinkle with nutmeg when served.

Homemade Eggnog
12 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 quarts milk, divided
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cups heavy whipping cream
Additional nutmeg, optional
In a heavy 4-qt. saucepan, whisk together eggs, sugar and salt. Gradually add 1 qt. of milk. Cook and stir over low heat until a thermometer reads 160°-170°, about 30-35 minutes. Pour into a large heat proof bowl; stir in vanilla, nutmeg and remaining milk. Place bowl in an ice-water bath, stirring frequently until mixture is cool. If mixture separates, process in a blender until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. When ready to serve, beat cream in a mixing bowl on high until soft peaks form; whisk gently into cooled milk mixture. Pour into a chilled 5-qt. punch bowl. Sprinkle with nutmeg if desired. Yield: 3-1/2 quarts. Editor's Note: Eggnog may be stored, covered, in the refrigerator for several days. Whisk before serving.

Mocha Eggnog

INGREDIENTS
5 cups chocolate milk
4 cups eggnog*
1 cup whipping cream, divided
2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon rum extract
DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan, combine the milk, eggnog, 1/2 cup cream and coffee granules; heat through. Remove from the heat; stir in extracts. In a small mixing bowl, beat remaining cream until stiff peaks form. Dollop over eggnog.

Eggnog II

INGREDIENTS
16 eggs, beaten
6 cups milk
3/4 cup and 2 tablespoons and 1 teaspoon white sugar
2-3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-2/3 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon and 2-1/4 teaspoons white sugar
2-3/4 pinches ground nutmeg
DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan, combine the eggs, milk and 1/3 cup sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture coats a metal spoon.
Remove from heat. Cool quickly by placing pan in a sink or bowl of ice water and stirring 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the vanilla. Chill 4 to 24 hours.
Before serving, whip the cream and 2 tablespoons sugar until soft peaks form. Transfer chilled egg mixture to a punch bowl. Fold in whipped cream mixture and serve at once. Sprinkle each serving with nutmeg.

Eggnog 1

Ingredients
6 Eggs, Separated
1/2 c Super fine sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
2 ts Vanilla
2 c Brandy
1 c Milk
2 c Whipping cream
Nutmeg
How to make Homemade Brandy Egg Nog
Beat egg yolks, 1/4 cup sugar, nutmeg, salt and vanilla together with rotary beater or electric mixer until very thick and light yellow.

Slowly beat in brandy and milk. Cover and chill overnight.

Shortly before serving, beat egg whites to soft peaks.

Gradually beat in remaining 1/4 cup sugar with same beater, beat cream to soft peaks. Fold meringue into beaten cream. Then slowly pour on chilled brandy mixture folding in gently.

Ingredients
12 eggs

1 quart cream
Vanilla (to taste)
Dash of nutmeg

How to make Non Alcoholic Egg Nog
Seperate eggs at room temp. Beat yolks till creamed with about half of sugar, whites till peaked then add other half of sugar. Beat cream till stiff. Then fold all together. Add vanilla to taste - but remember that a little bit of vanilla goes a long way.
Place into containers keep in refrigerator for at least one day. Shake before serving

First it is eggnog not nock. It consists of milk and a little cream, raw eggs and cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar.
For adults you might want to put in a little whiskey or rum.
