Read that mosquitos' gastric enzymes inactivate the hiv so why cant we harvest these enzymes and treat hiv.

It's probably because mosquitos have a totally different make-up in terms of cells that humans. Now if the carrier was a chimpanzee and hiv became inactive for whatever reason, then you might have something.

The reason why mosquitoes do not transfer HIV is because when they bit an infected person and move on to another infected person, the mosquito does not regurgitate blood.
During the life cycle of Malaria, it makes it's way to the saliva in the mosquito. Hence, when the infected mosquito bites another human the saliva has access to the blood stream...

It's a good point. I believe the theory is being looked into, not to mention that the Chinese have been using a natural remedy from an indigenous plant for years which has come to the attention of the west and is also being developed with Chinese cooperation. Although treatments may be found, the real challenge is to find a vaccine.
