A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

Ukitaka kujifunza Kiingereza, utahitaji kufanya mazoezi. Nilipojifunza Kiswahili niliishi na watu ambao waliongea tu na Kiswahili. Unaofahamu watu wanaongea Kiingereza?

Bora ni kusikia an kuongea Kiingereza ya watu wanaongea vizuri.

The idea of watching movies and listening to music is certainly the best way to learn the pronunciation and phraseology of the language. However, if you're working on vocabulary, find some English books and read them with a dictionary by your side. Whenever you get stuck on a word, see if you can figure it out based on context, then look it up in the kamusi to verify the accuracy.

Good luck with the language. Ni ngumu lakini utaweza ukijaribu sana.

My friend who only spoke farsi learned english through movies and listening to music. She speaks so fluently now! I mean, she doesn't have an accent at all. Just don't watch movies that have too much of "yo home dog!" and stuff in it. Soon enough you'll see that your english has improved and you'll feel elated!
Also, you can purchase some english tapes that go along with a book. It'll improve your speaking and understanding of the language, also improving your grammar.

Good luck.
