Because if he's not, that would explain a lot. My experience is people who don't like dogs are not worth knowing:

"For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." Revelation 22:15

There's nothing positive written about dogs in the bible, except Proverbs 30:31 that says a greyhound is attractive when it is going.

God appears to be be more of a cat person, but not of housecats. Just big wild cats like lions and leopards.

Robertson's Word Pictures has this to say about the use of the word 'dogs' in THIS context:

"The dogs (hoi kunes). Not literal dogs, but the morally impure (Deu_23:18; 2Ki_8:13; Psa_22:17, Psa_22:21; Mat_7:6; Mar_7:27; Phi_3:3). Dogs in the Oriental cities are the scavengers and excite unspeakable contempt."

In other words, the verse should be stated "For without are dogs:-sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie".

The original Greek does allow for this meaning. What we have here is a classic case of problems with semantics.

My official answer is the ones writing or translating the bible or it's scriptures, made a mistake. God is infallible and obviously this is a mistake, so it wasn't his mistake.

My fun answer is dogs got a bad reputation from God grouping them in with all those lowlifes, and they are spending eternity with us being sweet and fun trying to clear their rep.

You do not understand the meaning of the words. Please go back and re-read them again and do some cross referencing with your Bible. I am not being rude to you, but how can you understand the other things mentioned, but not understand "dogs" There will be animals in heaven. It is in the Book of Isaiah. But this in your question is not about dogs as you know the word.

'Dogs' is a term used by the Jews for non-Jews or the Gentiles. God loves all His creation. When humankind is completely restored with their new heavenly bodies all creation will also be restored. You will see dogs in the new heaven and new earth. Our love for dogs comes from God. For God is love.

If He didn't like dogs, why did He make them?

(assuming He created everything)
