why does everyone presume he was a virgin. Even if he was celebate, do you think he checked out some *** as it walked by? Seriously. Because if he didn't even lust, he had no concept of a man's potential to sin in this area (and look at the broken marriages - it is one of the most common sins). I'm not sure Jesus was qualified.

Celibacy is a temporary state. Viriginity is not necessarily implied.

That's a good point that I am going to use in real life when people are discussing the bible with me. You know, when they try to save my soul. Of course the xian answer will probably be that Jesus/God knows everything.

However no marriage for Jesus certainly makes for an interesting coincidence with today's divorce rate.

They presume he was a virgin because they believe that its better to be a virgin. The bible actually says somewhere that its better to be celibate. I don't understand this because it also says that God wanted humans to be fruitful and populate the earth.

What a great question. I know from experience that it's possible to be a human, see the big picture on sex, and for long periods of time not feel turned on by anyone nor crave sex. When you are in this state of mind sex almost seems repulsive and insect-like. Any truly devout monks I'm sure have experienced this for incredibly long periods of time, if not the rest of their lives. Celibacy IS a temporary state for the majority of us, but for enlightened individuals it is a constant. I doubt Siddhartha Gautama was concerned with sexual desires, and I doubt Jesus was either. I feel that if the statement, "Jesus lived his life in celibacy, and never "checked anyone out"." is true, the only possible way it could be true is if he was born enlightened, lived enlightened, and saw sex for what it is (reproduction). The problem with this is that I feel you can only become realized over time, you can't be born enlightened. (But this is of course a non-Christian's point of view, if I were a Christian I'm sure I would feel that anything is possible through God, and that he made the baby Jesus enlightened upon birth).

Also in answer to another side of your question, I don't feel the physical Jesus would've had the need to have a concept of man's potential to sin in that area, as long as God does, the physical Jesus could have just been the messenger.

Jesus (pbuh) was a human being just like any other one; with all the implications of being a human being. All the prophets were the same but chose to rise above their lusts and desires and do as told by Allah.

We are not qualified to judge if any prophet was not qualified. Allah knows us well and is the Only One who can decide that someone is a prophet or a messenger to people.

Jesus was not tempted by sex, & you try to make it sound as if he was, Why should he be, there was no sin in him & lust is a sin, Now concerning Jesus being married,he was not married, but He will have a BRIDE soon, & that will be all the True Saints. Rev. 19:7 & Rev 22:17

Hello, Jesus was God in the flesh. Without sin, if he wasn't married then he was a virgin. He was tempted in every way by satan, that includes lust of the flesh and did not sin. I would suggest to get a good study bible or study with a pastor that you know teaches the unadulterated word of God.

Broken marriages is not one of the most common sins. If you read the New Testament (start with John), the only sin is not believing in Jesus. God sent His only Son to us to die for our sins, not to check out the local female scenery.

If you would remember just 2 of the 10 Commandments #s 7 & 10 you would know what they say. Since Christ was with God from the beginning, HE wrote them. And being an example for us you would know that He would NOT tell us to do something that He would not do Himself.

Nobody "presumes" He was a virgin.

He WAS celibate, and the Bible says so.

In the Gospel of Luke, He speaks of people being celibate for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven -- and He gently challenges anyone who is up to living such a lifestyle to do so.

Jesus was not the sort of guy to challenge people to such things -- unless He was willing to do it Himself.

There's no reason whatsoever to believe that Jesus would have challenged anyone else to live celibately, if He weren't doing it Himself.

I truly believe that Jesus was married. In that day and age, Jewish men were expected to get married...and, if Jesus hadn't, no one would have listened to him because people would have thought him to be a heathen!

And no, unlike certain other people, the Da Vinci code had nothing to do with this belief. That was a piece of crap book.

do not compare a manly thinking to a Godly thinking...
yes, we see that men has its sinful nature but Jesus is a special kind of "man"..He possesses the attribute of being holy. the purpose of His manhood is to fulfill a prophecy and to fulfill the plan of salvation. bear in mind that Jesus is the way why we are not torment severely....so, why are you thinking such things about your Savior, you should be thankful instead...
