toner should be used to remove oil and grease from you cleanser. It draws out dirt from pores and is specifically used to tighten them. use it after cleanser and before moisturiser (hence the cleanse, tone moisturise slogan). To use: spray some onto a cotton ball and gently wipe the ball over your face. Some say that the effects of toner are overated, but try it and you will be suprised how much dirt comes out of your skin, even after cleansing!

what you probably really want to know is whether you should use toner or not, right? toners or astringents are not good for the skin. period. they are overrated a a pore cleanser and can be harmful if they over-dry. if you have oily skin you may use it once a day if you insist but no more. if you use moisturizer or sunscreen get ones that are oil-free. wash face twice a day with gentle liquid cleanser for oily skin. if you have combination or dry skin, throw away the toner.

to use toner you apply the liquid to a cotton ball and circluate it on your face and neck. It gets rid of all the dirt and oil from your face that you gathered during the day. Use a toner during the morning and before you go to bed. Try to use a cleanser beforehand and always use a moisturiser after your toner.

Toner is usually used right after washing the face. It picks up any leftover soap and balances the pH of your skin to the levels it should be. It also picks up any excess dirt or oil, and some kinds contain acne-fighting chemicals to help clear up skin, while others may contain moisturizers.

to remove excess oil from your face. It's not necessary to use toner unless your skin is very oily, then use it after washing your face with a cleanser. use an oil free moisturizer after the toner.

look everyday u should have a whole program for your skin.
First wash your face and the use scrub and then moistrurize and after a couple of hour u can use the toner which helps cleansing your skin from insude the pores which prevent oily skin and blemishes,
Toner is very important it cleans your skin more than the normal washes do.

a toner ,along with cleaning your face and removing all the dirt and stuff also maintains the ph balance of the skin and it also closes the pores on your skin, especially on your nose and its sides and the upper part of your cheeks. You should use it right after you wash ur face with a face wash/just water,or you could use it after you have a bath.u shd use it both day and night, and put moisturiser after.

Supposedly cleans your pores and get your skin ready for the moisturizer. But get mild toners as some of them are rather harsh and I think they do more harm than good. :)

i think it is for toning the skin to make it same throughout the face like some people have oily skin on nose and dry skin over rest of areas so they use toner for toning it (maybe i am not sure!!) and u should use it twice a week(this also i am not sure!!) better consult a beautician!!

Toner is to remove excess oil and dirt AFTER you have already washed your face. Don't forget that its after you washed your face, not before.
You should only use it if you have greasy skin naturally.
