Eggs are a good source of iron.
Iron - rich plant foods such as broccoli, dried apricots and figs, pulses and nuts - especially almonds. Because iron from animal sources is more easily absorbed by the body, it is important to eat foods that are rich in vitamin C ( such as broccoli and tomatoes ) at the same meal, as this will aid the absorption of iron.

As a mother who has suffered from anemia off and on my Dr or the nurses always told me Liver was the #1 choice. #2 is Beans (blk eye peas kidney etc) They say cooking w/ cast iron also helps you absorb iron.cream of wheat is very good too, but don't cook w/ milk , milk inhibits the absorption of iron. I hope this helps.
