Define "Islamic media". When I was in Egypt five years ago, I heard Arabic pop music all the time, esp. that famous singer Amr Diab who appears quite similar to Ricky Martin in his videos, and his songs are mostly love songs as far as I know, and it is mostly music that you can dance to, that is not Islamic, but not all Muslim countries are theocracies.
In very strict Islam, all music is forbidden. Some say that singing is allowed, but instruments and everything rhythmic is forbidden. Others listen to every music. You can't generalize.

music that arouses sexual desires. Some go for saying that all music is forbidden but this is not true. Even Prophet Muhammad used to rejoice with his companions and they used the instruments avilable in their time. There is music in the whole universe if we really listen.

All praise due to Allah and peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad. It is to my understanding that anything with instruments is haram except the daff or the tambourine. The use of MALE or childrens' melodious voices may also be used as they do in nasheeda. Allah knows best.
