more than likely it's a heart attack, if he made to the hospital he will probably be ok. he may need heart surgery, but will definately need to change his diet and exercise more, and stop smoking and drinking if he does that sort of thing. he probably has another 5 to 10 years left before the big one. it's serious

Classic symptoms of a heart attack. Since it has been hours since this question was posted, I am hoping that as soon as it was written or while it was being written, someone was calling the paramedics in your area. Time is of the essence when dealing with a heart attack. The sooner your dad reached medical attention the better his chance of survival and the better his chance of sustaining minimal damage to the heart muscle.

If he is a smoker, I hope he understands that as of today, he has had his last cigarette or whatever he smokes. It is one of the most damaging things he can do for his body. Smoking is followed closely by poor eating habits, no exercise and just living the American lifestyle - which is a lifestyle that quickly leads to illness.

Good luck to you and your dad. God bless.

But you are able to type?

Perhaps someone is sitting on you. Or it is a heart attack.
Generally, if you can get help, recovery will occur.
A hospital is the best place, with all the right monitoring equipment. The people who do worse are the ones who ignor symptoms. Clearly that has not happened here.

There's a possibility that it is a heart attack. It is good that you took him to the hospital.

Sounds like a heart attack :-( They can do a lot though to fix him up, if he's already got professional help, so please try not to worry too much! Good luck to you both!
