its an equation with at least five possible answers.

When people say "putting one and one together", they mean inferring the situation from the facts they know. So, they see two people go into a wine shop together, or a man order a beer for a woman at a hotel, they put one and one together, and they come up with all sorts of gossip. so 1+1 = gossip (or inferring things)

another interpretation is mathematical. If you take one ounce of spirits, and one ounce beer, you get two ounces of a pretty gross drink. so 1+1 is two. This is also useful for figuring out how much something costs.

the third is concatenation, used in computer programming. If both ones are in fact strings rather than numerical data types, than 1+1 makes 11. This is useless for numbers, but it's useful if you want to give someone numerical data in a complete sentence.

or, most likely, it a web host, 1&1. They're based in Germany, but they pretend to be british and their domain is 1and1.com for the usa, or if you feel like spending more money it's 1and1.co.uk.

I wouldn't recommend them though, I like go daddy or host gator better. Or if you're a german and want to use a german company, Lycos. They are getting better, but they have all sorts of hidden costs.

The fifth is a drink, with two ingredients of usually equal amounts. half vodka and half tomato juice is the usual one. I don't know if vodka qualifies as a spirit.

1+1 is only 1+1, there is nothing more to it, unless u add a ( = ) sign to it, then it's a question

1+1 is an equation. 1+1 EQUALS two, but 1+1, standing on it's own, is simply an mathematical statement.
