i havent attended my church's youth group for a long time and i wish i go back. however im worried that i wont be able to fit in as most of them are either older or younger than me. i feel awkard mixing with new ppl too. any tips to help me out?

A lot of people find new social situations difficult, just try to relax and make small talk with lots of people. Think about things that interest you, and ask people questions - most people are made more comfortable when they are talking about things that they know about. Put people at ease by showing an interest in them - these people must be local to you, so talk about what's going on in your town and other familiar things.
Try mixing with different people and don't be afraid to approach someone - even if the conversation falls flat, you can always say you are off to make a call/get a drink/find your coat etc and move on to the next...

Remove the worry from your mind. The church's youth group will give you valuable lesson useful through out your life. In this world you won't meet people of you age group. They are all types of people of all ages. To get the best we have to mix and deal and transact will all types of people in this world. Start early so that you learn this useful skill quickly, and the church youth group setting gives you the correct setting of variety and safety.

Just try to relax and be friendly I feel awkard too around a lot of people.
