No one truly knows. Many will tell you Mormon or Islam or one of the Pagan faiths but the truth is we don't know for certain. The reason we don't know is that there are several countries, including the U.S.A., that does not ask what religion someone is when they take their census. And even those countries that do ask cannot be 100% accurate. I remember hearing a recent story from Australia about how several people were upset about how the national census would ask what religion someone was so people started to say 'Jedi'. I have heard that there are several people who do follow the philosophy that George Lucas set forth when he created the Jedi in the Star Wars series and personally I don't have a problem with this as it is basically a peaceful philosophy but I also know that several people who answered the census's question about religion with 'Jedi' are not following that philosophy but only stated it to avoid the intrusion upon a personal choice (or merely stated that answer for amusement). So in truth, I don't think anyone truly knows what religion is growing fastest.

It will be a difficult matter to discuss as there are no real figures worldwide to support any discussion.

You can, however, judge somewhat by the figures from the UK census of 2001. They are one of the few countries that asks about religion on their forms.

What was interesting was that 390,000 people said their religion was Jedi. Go figure.

But they did have write-ins, as evident by the Jedi statistics, and they did count 170 different religions listed, besides the ones that they asked about specifically. Listed as pagan/Wiccan was 40,000.

There are other sites out there with breakdowns. I just listed a few. It does give you a good idea of where religion is going.

But this is probably the best statistics you will find for religious growth or not.

I chose a non-biased objective source, there are Islamic sites which claim this, and anti-islam sites which fail to see the truth

No Compulsion in Religion

Allah said,

[لاَ إِكْرَاهَ فِى الدِّينِ]

(There is no compulsion in religion), meaning, "Do not force anyone to become Muslim, for Islam is plain and clear, and its proofs and evidence are plain and clear. Therefore, there is no need to force anyone to embrace Islam. Rather, whoever Allah directs to Islam, opens his heart for it and enlightens his mind, will embrace Islam with certainty. Whoever Allah blinds his heart and seals his hearing and sight, then he will not benefit from being forced to embrace Islam.''

Why is because God is guiding people

There are 3 other sites that can also provide information but this one seems to better sum them all up without being biased.

Christians lead with more conversions.
Muslims lead with births, not conversions.

Which is very reasonable considering that Christians are more 'missionary' oriented than Muslims. They go out and try to convert in more numbers than Muslims tend to do.

I don't know if any studies have been done. People say Islam, but I doubt that, but I could be wrong. I do know that Wicca and Paganism is growing at a faster rate then ever before.
