one man betrayed him and the romans hung him on the cross

The Jews didn't crucify Him, the Roman soldiers did. Then again, if you consider the Bible, Jesus gave His life, so it was His decision. By that sacrifice that Jesus did, we can enter freely in God's presence and we can be forgiven of sins. If we refuse His sacrifice on the cross, the Bible says we are doomed. To eternal pain.
Hope what I wrote you helps.

Judaism does not note of Jesus as a prophet, and he easily did not qualify because the Messiah. esus change into not a prophet. Prophecy can really exist in Israel even as the land is inhabited by a majority of world Jewry. in the course of the time of Ezra (circa three hundred BCE), even as maximum folk of Jews refused to bypass from Babylon to Israel, prophecy ended upon the inability of life of the merely good prophets -- Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. Jesus known on the scene about 350 years after prophecy had ended.

if I understand your question properly... no, I think it was the Romans who actually did the execution, though according to the Bible accounts of it, the Jewish authorities did their bit to make sure it happened. I don't think there are many other accounts available that differ substantially from that, so we should really accept it as probably what happened.

That's not a slight on Jews, however. For a long time Christianity was largely a Jewish sect. Jesus himself was a Jew, as was the chief early "gentiliser" of the religion, Paul/Saul of Tarsus.

Jews didn't crucify anyone, the Romans did that. And as you seem to be Muslim, why do you ask this? I know that Islam says that Jesus wasn't crucified at all.

Yes it is true, he was teaching them the truth about Christianity and one of his students choose to disbelieve and became a traitor to the Jews who were after Jesus (pbuh) because they didn't believe in his teachings. But in the end Jesus wasn't the one put on the cross, it was his student (the traitor).

My friend you should read some of the gospel accounts of the Bible in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to get some idea of what Christians believe regarding the death and ressurection of Jesus.

First of all Jesus himself was a Jew from the Jewish nation of Israel. All of Jesus apostles were Jews. And nearly all the early Christians were Jews. Hence if Jesus was going to upset someone he was most likely to upset someone from his own people.

One of Jesus apostles Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. Yet Jesus embraced all his enemies with Love. He embraced them all with heroic Love. This same man Judas later hung himself on a tree in guilt for his part in the death of Jesus.

Yet in that paticular epoch of time the Jewish religious authorities had no authority to put a man to death hence bringing Jesus to the Romans - who were the occupational army in charge of that area for permission. The Roman in charge Pontius Pilate with reluctance gave permission for Jesus to be crucified.

However, the Church neither blames the Jews soley or the Romans for the death of Jesus. The Church has always believed even from the beginning in accordance with the Prophet Issiah that Jesus took upon himself the sins of the whole world. So every single human person who has ever sinned Past, Present and future pierced and crucified Jesus Christ Son of God. It is only God himself incarnate in human flesh that could endure such hate of man and overcome hate with all powerful LOVE. Jesus overcame the sin of the world and death itself with something more powerful then either that being LOVE. The ressurection of Jesus Christ bares witness to this Love. Only one God/Man has overcome the sins of the whole world yours and mine my friend and the whole world with Heroic Love that being Jesus Christ. We all put Jesus on the cross my friend.

To help you understand I have quoted the Prophet Isaiah. I ask you who is it that has fulfilled this prophesy?

"He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, accustomed to infirmity, One of those from whom men hide their faces, spurned and we held in no esteem. Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted. But he was pierced for our offences, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed. We had all gone astray like sheep, each following his own way; But the Lord laid upon him the guilt of us all." Isaiah 53:3-6
