well,many scientists tried,i mean really ,to know about this or to search more.dogs do i suppose have a black and white eyesite or u can say vision because they dnt react to colours.their life depends on their nose and nothing else.god gave them the power to smell so why will they use colurful vision?maybe,i mean maybe they may hav a colourful vision but dnt react to it,but there r sum days when u think ur dog is a black and white visioned one.

because of the cells in the back of the retina there are different types and dogs dont have the ones that produce colour.

they don't. they have color vision. it's just that they are red-green colorblind. but they can see colors. they run tests on the dogs to see whether they can tell the difference between differently colored things.

The current thinking is that dogs see in color but not in the way that humans do.
