when you have two options that both make as much sense as each other, blind faith's all you've got

Faith itself is blind. People have faith and a reason to believe, if it helps them not to stray from morality Religion is the way to teach it. I personally can't say that I am religious, but I think religions are a healthy way to teach morals and to appreciate life. But I am very against people who want to force their religion on others, because there is no right and wrong religion...it is something for people to belive in and if they feel satisfied with what they believe in, that's all that counts.

Some people are just gullible and will believe anything.

But, let's be honest, nobody *really* believes everything about their religion - they pick and choose the bits that they want to believe. They believe in God and Jesus and that they're going to heaven, but they don't actually believe that God will look after them, because they still buy health insurance. And they don't believe in "death do us part", because they get divorced.

Basically, they believe what is *convenient* and ignore what is *inconvenient*. So, it's all a sham.

The truth is that God simply doesn’t exist. And no, He’s not like wind, or air. Wind and air can be examined right down to the level of individual atoms – so we *know* that wind and air exist, but there is no proof whatsoever for the existence of God. Oh, and no, the Bible is *not* proof of God’s existence. It was written by men. And because it was written by men, there are huge numbers of errors and contradictions in it. If it *had* been written by God – who is a perfect being – then it too would be perfect and error-free. Wouldn’t it?

My faith is not blind I have proof. For example we only recently found out that the universe was created by the Big Bang. A mass of gases which one day exploded and created the universe. If a religion stated centuries before the theory came about would we believe there is a God?

"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? " (Quran 21:31)

Though I do agree with you partially that you do require faith also.

As you say, in good times, we don't need religion. But when things get really bad, who do you tell a good friend? Do you have a trusted friend? Sometimes, that trusted friend isn't a friend, they blab. So maybe you try another trusted friend, they blab. You probably can't tell a parent, teacher, etc. So where do you go? We have blind faith as you say when we are in that bad/good time. Its like having that blind faith sitting in the passenger seat right next to you. Hope that helps.

Did you know that the sequence of polypeptide chains in a protein are one of "nature's" greatest miracles. In fact, according to science, the likelihood of the 500 codons matching in the correct order (through nature alone) with their codons in an RNA protein are 1/1^950. That is 1 out of every 1,0000000 (950 zeroes) 0000000000. Multiply that by all the other "natural phenomenas" of the world and you'll have to have a lot of blind faith to believe we somehow miraculously formed how we did without supernatural aid (God). Besides, logically we must deduce that God exists. When you see a painting you know that it must've been produced by a painter; NOT the product of nature and natural selection. Likewise, when we see creation and organization; there must be some sort of creator/organizer. We are testaments to God and to deny that is unnatural in itself. Peace.

God has guided us (Muslims) to the straight path,

here is an amazing saying the Prophet said

And what is the matter with you that you believe not in Allah! While the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord; and He has indeed taken your covenant, if you are real believers) [57:8]. A Hadith states that one day, the Prophet said to his Companions,

("Who among the faithful believers do you consider has the most amazing faith'' They said, "The angels.'' He said, "Why would they not believe, since they are with their Lord'' They mentioned the Prophets, and the Prophet said, "Why would they not believe while the revelation is sent down to them'' They said, "Then, we are.'' He said, "Why would not you believe when I am among you'' They asked, "Who has the most amazing faith'' The Prophet said, "A people who will come after you and who will find only books that they will believe in.'')

The Bible!
It is a historical document; many fragments and copies of the original texts survive, far more than many classical Greeco-Roman texts that people take for granted.
Read the Gospels for what they are; accounts of Jesus mission. No other religion is founded on God's own word.
Islam is based on a man who claims to be the last in a line of Prophets - he does not claim divinity; Buddhism is based on an enlightened spiritual philosophy; and Hinduism on an insightful spiritual mythology; Judaism simply missed it's own boat - the arrival of the Messiah, and then carried on regardless.
How bizarre that human history is not full of religious sects founded on men who claimed to be God incarnate...Only Jesus Christ made the claim; only Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven; and only Jesus Christ propagated the beautiful witnessing and testimony to love evident in so many of the lives of Saints and Martyrs.

Because 99.999% believe.The.001% person comes along and tells the truth and they're burnt at the stake, nailed to cross etc.Lets face it almost every one wants to be a victim. You know, blame someone else for their problems, then depend upon someone else to save them.Seems to me one of the .001%ers said 'the kingdom of god is within you' not in a book or church or belief. So I don't believe in anything, I test things. And hey if gods so all power-full, the last thing I want to do is to tell god what to do or needs to be done {prayer}. I probably should go within and listen.

what makes you so sure that all they have is blind faith?

is a person whos born blind(totally blind), beliving that colors exist, "only going on blind faith"? they can't observe that color exists, or looks different for anyone... all they can do is believe what people who can see, have told them.

prove to me that color exists.

prove to me that red is red, and that what you call red, looks to you, as it looks to me.

I have observed things that assumably you have not. these prove the things that I believe in, are as I believe they are, pretty much.

for example the existance of a soul. I have more doubt in gravity than I do in the existance of the soul.
