Yes, faxed copies from your insurance company are accepted in most states. Assuming they have their logo on the letterhead and is signed by your agent.

Insurance companies fax documents to clients and licensing offices all the time...no problem.
Not sure what your post office will accept. Call and ask.

No in most cases. if it is faxed direct to the post office, from your insurer, with prior arrangement with your post office, this is the only time they will ocnsider a fax. Simply due to fraud prevention, as a fax you recieve can be scanned and copied. if your insurer says they can use a fax, they are trying to fob you off, as it is rubbish.

Maybe, if you're lucky - they accepted my printout from an email without commenting on it. Depends how easy it is to tell it's a fax, to be honest, and how much of a jobsworth they want to be. Nothing to lose by trying, is there?

If you've got one of the new-style computer MOTs (which you should if it's current), you can to it online. They computer check your MOT and insurance status, and post a tax disk out to you.

The Big Tom needs to check his facts. Although you can renew your tax on line, you MUST be insured. They do an electronic check for both MOT and insurance. But, no, you have to have the original document if doing it at a Post Office.
