i'm more afraid of the gun... but it's the user of the gun that ultimately causing a result.
guns should not be used for cause fear. they should be used for protection. and hunting. that's what they were made for.

Are you afraid of the police? I'm not.
Are you afraid of violent criminals? I'm concerned, but not afraid.
If your "someone" is behaving more like a violent criminal than a police officer, I would definitely be cautious.

be afraid of the gun, not the person. dont be afraid until you have to be. fear will make you do stupid things. stupid things get you shot.

I wasn't afraid of the guns or the knifes...but he had a mean streak, a bad temper and didn't mind hitting me or choking me...
