I think there are many positive things about being single!! And I think there can be tremendous spiritual benefits derived from periods of time in a person's life when they are alone. These times can afford the opportunity for great spiritual growth - perhaps greater than when someone is coupled with another person, and thereby distracted by that other person.
Perhaps this is because when a person goes through hard times in their lives alone, they must reach deep inside themselves to do the soul-searching required to make difficult adjustments.
I am not meaning to imply that being single is better than being married, put down wanting to find a partner, etc. It just seems that society is geared towards people being in couples, and there is this pervasive sentiment that if you are single, there must be something wrong with you.
Happy New Year to all!!

Not having to get dressed if i don't want to, visiting with friends as long as I want to, chatting on the telephone without worrying about ignoring my man, Not having to answer to anyone, if I want cereal for dinner I can have it, the list could go on and on and on...I also have a big list of what things I love about being in a committed relationship too!

Within reason, I do what I want, when I want to.
I used to get home to a wife who bored me with her inane conversation and seemed to want my company just ensure I was not elsewhere but now I greet my cat who immediately realises if I am in a hurry to eat and get out.
Why can't a woman be more like a cat?

I love the total freedom that accompanies singles, although I am a social being basically.

When I am single I like the fact I can do what I like, when I like, and I dont have to consider anyone else. That is the nice bit - as well as not having to wax and shave all the time!
