Normal push-ups:

Place your hands at a distance slightly wider than your shoulder. Keep your body straight with your abs. Face forward. Go all the way down so that your body just barely touch the ground, then push your body up. Your elbow show bend outwards.

Diamond Push-ups.

Place your hands together and keep your body straight. Face forward. Go all the way down so that your body just barely touch the ground, then push your body up. Your elbow should bend backwards and your arms can just touch your sides. Trains your triceps instead.

Remember to warm up or you may just sprain every part of your upper body. Good luck

You were looking sideways or upwards, huh? Always face forward (face the floor). Number one rule...never move your head around while in the middle of a rep, or you can risk serious injury. My father is a trainer...and loves to spread his knowledge.

get your hands closer to your chest...
if you get hurt again, then you need to take small steps at a time, like do only 5-10 pushups at once
