Is there a web site? I've checked the inland revenue site but it says you need to ring them.

Cheers Penfold I didn't know that about the year / pay period.
It's PAYE. I'm trying to check because I'm convinced I've been paying too much since I got married.

Somewhere on the Inland Revenue website http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ is an explanation of how much tax you pay at a particular level of income. Likewise for NI contibutions. Find what these rates are and know your individual tax allowance. You'll be able to calculate the correct amount payable. Remember that tax is based on a how much you get paid in a year and NI is based on how much you get paid in a pay period.
