My boyfriend and I have been together for a year...And the sex life isn't dull. But we've been trying different condoms. We've stuck with Trojans, but we've found different problems. The first ones were ok (Trojan-ENZ Lubricated) except more often than not her would get a burning sensation as if he had to pee, and he would feel more relieved when he pushed as if he were urinating. The second one we used were the Trojan Her Pleasure Lubricated Condoms. These were better for both of us, but we wanted to again try something different. So we bought the Trojan Extended Pleasure Condoms and every time we use one it gives me a painful burning sensation on the inside. It doesn't hurt when we don't use a condom, so I'm wondering if there is something in the first type and last type that could be causing this for us. And please don't mention STDs I know the possiblities of them, but neither of us have anything.

The irritation that the both of you are feeling, could be due to a allergic reaction to latex.
I am married and therefore do not do the condom thing, plus the fact that my husband is allergic to latex too, so I don't know what is available, but isn't there other condoms out there that are not so highly latex like? You may want to investigate, as there has to be something out there for latex sensitive folks.

1) Make sure you have a dose of Plan-B in case a condom ever breaks...and they do.
2) Lubricants/spermicides can sometime cause a burining sensation. Read the packets of all the condoms that give you trouble and see if they have the same lubricant or different ones. If you can't rule out the lubricant, you should be able to ask a pharmacist or maybe go to a Planned Parenthood and ask.

I agree. If both of you are clean and monogamous I'd get on the pill. You don't have to worry about the sperimicide or the enhancing/numbing lubricants irritating you, the condom breaking, etc. If for some reason you don't want to go on the pill, i'd go with something unlubricated and just extend foreplay for natural lubrication. Hope this helps.

Make sure they are well lubricated and not with lotion or petroleum jelly, use a persoanl lubricant only like KY jelly.
You may have a latex sensitivity. You can try the lambskin type but these do not protect from disease, only pregnancy. It may be that he is trying to get you not to want to use them at all. Watch to see if he puts anything like pepper on it. I am dead serious.

Obviously there is a hyper allergic reaction going on. Check with your doctor(s). They will recommend safe alternatives for both of you!

Try sandwich bags and a twist ties. If you really have the money try sandwich bags with the zip for extra protection

If you know you're both clean then perhaps you should consider getting birth control and then not using a condom. That's what I do, and it's great.
