You're most likely not fat or overweight.

However - have do want to throw caution into the wind and address all these people that give biased answers.

Consider the fact that different people have different bone structures - if you're 5'5" and have a thick, robust bone structure, you can be 130-140 and still not look "fat" (let's define 'fat' as having a gut, with rolls on your belly). If you have an extremely light bone-structure, 105 pounds at 5'5" can actually be normal (believe it or not).

I do agree with that one poster who mentioned that you are still growing - to diet severely during your teens can stunt your growth! If you eat a healthy diet and take plenty of EXERCISE to stay fit, then you could possibly grow to a lean, long 5'8"! Who knows, right? Think about that... I'm sure when you're 18 you'll be a lot happier being a tall and healthy girl, and not a skinny, unhealthy short one.

I have heard that as a general rule, women should weigh 100 pounds at 5 feet tall. And add 5 pounds for every inch over 5 feet. According to that, a healthy weight for your height would be about 125 and you are underweight. But as another poster said, there are many types of bodies.

Don't be too concerned about gaining weight. You are 14 and growing. You are supposed to gain weight.

you may likely be going through a growth spurt, i remember when i was your age i went from being 5'3 and 110 to about 5'6 and 140 in 4 months...it sucks but it's life.... just remember to eat healthy and get at least 30 min of exercise in each day...and you should be fine.... i wish i had followed that advice...i exercised but didn't eat healthy, i wanted the fast food and gained weight by the time i graduated, but just remember females usually don't stop growing until the age of 21, it can be attributed to bone density, lean muscle mass and body fat....i am still 5'6 and 200 now, but i have lean muscle mass of 130, with 40 lbs of body fat the rest is blood, water and bone...but don't diet right now...it will mess up your metabolism for when you get older and will make it much harder to lose weight in the future if you need to...i.e after pregnancy or if you become ill

Most likely you are at the age when you are going through puberty...your body is going to change a lot during this time. Think about it like this...I had a friend that joined the military and she was about your size...she had to get a waiver because she was too thin. Don't think about your weight in pounds...think about where you feel comfortable. If you continue to gain weight and aren't sure why...you should see your doctor..it could be a thyroid problem which is easily corrected with medication.

Who are you comparing yourself to? Forget the skinny women in magazines. If you are concerned about gaining 10 pounds, watch your diet and exercise. Don't agonize over weighing yourself all the time. Your body is your body. Look at the other women in your family; how do they look? You are not fat. You're young and still developing. The 10 pounds happened over the holiday season. Don't lose sleep over it. If you are that concerned, ask your doctor not a bunch of strangers in computer land.

No honey, you are not.
You must be around seven and a half stone (don't think in pounds, that's like measuring your waist in millimeters) Your body will soon find its natural shape, but it will carry on 'morphing' until you're about 21. Don't worry about it right now otherwise you will make yourself ill at a time when your body needs all the nourishment that it can get to make you an adult.

Your hardly fat. Your at a very good weight for your height. Actually, gaining about 10-15 more pounds probably wouldn't hurt you. If your worried about appearance... guys don't like really skinny girls... guys like girls who are thin but not ones where u can see there bones stick out... thats just nasty. Hope this helps.

P.S- As long as your happy with yourself and appearance, its fine. If others got a problem with it... then thats there problem, not yours.
