Put up a sign at the corner of their street that says( your name) loves and misses you(friends name). OR take out an add in their local paper and have someone put about a dozen news papers near their home in a pile for them to find.

If you use good ol snail mail you could mail them a CD of songs you put on for them, songs that remind you of them and show them that you're missing them and all that.

write a poem about them, do voice mail..instead of sending letter send recorded mail so she/he hear ur voice if u dont have phone. necklace pendent picture of u two together..do a time capsule of each other..
