Color of love?
I am non-white and I go to an all white school (infact, I live in an all-white city)...I get along well with everyone in the community. There is a school dance next month and a couple of girls have asked me out, but I know its all good with my white buddies that i am amazing at soccer but I don't know how they would react if I dated one of their sisters...I have never been in a relationship before. Shold I accept one of the invitations or politely decline as I have always done throughout high school just so I don't run into any racial problems...someone please help...

Personally speaking (and from experience)-it should not matter what color you are, but to some it does. If you are going to date one of your friends sisters-ask the friend first. That goes without saying no matter if you're the same race or not. I had a best friend in High School and she and her brother were the only black kids at our school. He was the basketball champ. He dated whomever he wished and never had any problems until late senior year. I am white and have never dated a white guy. I have a mixed child and am planning on getting married to a black man. There are problems associated with this, and just plain ignorant people that only see color and not a person. You cannot live your whole life in the slow lane and never experience anything. Try dating someone who is not on of your friends sisters and go from there. If they are truley your friends, it will not matter what color you are. Good Luck.

In my books it does not matter what race you are you can date anyone. But social reality is less accomodating and you may find there are some people who will be against it! My advice is go for it. If you are non-white and shy away you will miss many things in life. Will you then decline a job offer because maybe there are people who dont want to work with people of a different race? Will you not go to 'white bars' when you grow up? Besides you seem to have been accepted in everything else in that community so go ahead - have you seen how cute mixed race kids are?? You may have one some day

yes it could matter, but do you like the girl? If you do just go to the dance and have a good time man. There will always be racists out there I am sorry to say, do what you feel is the right thing not what others think, good luck man

Do you want to run from this forever? You have to deal with it. If your buddies "really" like you... than it does not matter what you do, because they will always like you.

Practically go to the dance and if it gets that far that you are getting into that dating phase, just talk the one of those buddies and tell him: how he feels, that you are dating his sister.

You are not different from anybody else.

Can't be all white, you are there. You are making it an issue because you want it to be. If you like a "girl" not a white girl or black girl or mexican or blah blah blah then go and have fun. The only problem you seem to have is with yourself.

Look just go for it!!!! Racism is everywhere and you shouldn't let it stop you because otherwise you are letting them know that they an intimidate you. Go to the dance with whom ever you want thats your decison not anyone else's.

dating, no problem, although I wouldn't date a white girl that had dated a black guy or mexican guy
marriage, big problems for cross cultural marriages, whether cross racial, cross religion, etc.

It shouldnt matter. Its not the color of the outside that matters, its whats inside that counts.
