What's a reasonable amount of memory stick I should buy for this digital camera. I won't be using the camera for work or anything so I don't need anything big but I don't want to run out of memory while I go on vacation or on any trips.

For everyday use, I would recommend a minimum of 1GB and at least 2GB or even more, if you are going on vacation for a while.

As an example, the T50 using a...
1GB Memory Stick, can hold approx. 279 photos
2GB Memory Stick can hold approx. 573 photos (at the highest quality setting of 7M, which you should always use).

Shooting 'movies' will only allow approx.12mins on a 1GB Memory Stick. (double that for 2GB).
You must buy a 'Memory Stick PRO Duo'..to be able to shoot movies at the best quality (VX Fine mode).

You do not have to buy 'Sony' branded Memory Stick PRO Duo...Sandisk is a fast & reliable brand, which I would recommend. Look at the Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo which would be the better option (it's the one I would choose & it comes with a lifetime warranty).
