Where and when did it all start ? Where does it end ? How big is it ?

Of course it is pointless, all the questions I have seen here on Religion are pointless in some way.

I am just curious to see if there are any logical answers among the dumb ones. So far other than the answers that God created it there are no reasonable answers. Science doesn't know btw according to the Big Bang the Universe was here before the blast but the blast gave it its present form, duh. Where did the Big Bang come from ?

I find it interesting that non believers can have faith that the universe came from matter that has existed forever and some how suddenly expolded. That it has no beginning or no end, but they can't accept that God has existed forever and has no end. I really want to understand how one is considered such a huge leap of faith while the other makes perfect sense to so many and yet is totally unprovable.

Timmie, you know where it came from . . .
NOTHING exploded and created EVERYTHING!!!!!!
Or at least that's what the Atheists would have you think.
Truly, it came from GOD.

It's possible that there was a 'Big Bang' which accounts for the current trajectories of all objects in the known universe. One might wonder what happened before the Big Bang. However, if one paid attention in physics class, one would know that such a question is fundamentally unanswerable. The Big Bang was the origin of both space and time, so 'before the Big Bang' has no meaning. It's kind of like 'better than perfect'.
Theoretically the Big Bang occurred about 1.37 E+10 years ago, based on the best estimates of the smartest people in the history of the human race. But of course nobody knows for sure.

By applying simple logic, one could surmise that if the universe started 14 billion years ago, then the furthest any matter or energy could have gotten from the point of origin is 14 billion lightyears. So the universe is probably about 2.75 E+10 lightyears in diameter. Of course, this assumes that by 'how big is it' you're asking about the standard spacial dimensions. Otherwise it gets tricky.

Some people would say the big band, you know dense matter, boom and all that stuff. But what was before that, people say nothing but to say nothing is now to imply something. If you have an area of nothingness, then you have something. There were certain things that triggered the big bang to occur. So if the Universe came from the big bang and the big bang came from nothing then where did nothing come from. Nothingness may sound trivial and paradigmish but google it and you will see there is much science and philosophy on the theory of nothingness. And lets say this all leads back to God, then the question is where did God come from?

I believe God created it all and Physics is the real bible. I dont know the origin of God or the origin of existance and probably never will.

Matter and/or energy has always existed..it has to be. No theory can account for a state of absolute nothingness. We don't know where or if our visible universe ends because of the limited power of our equipment. We may never know how big it is because we have no idea what goes on in black holes..they could indeed contain other universes.

Saying GodDidIt does not answer anything. It complicates the problem by saying that a being complex enough to create a universe just popped into existence out of nothing.

Response to details:
The big bang does not state that matter or energy came into existence out of nothing...You would only think that if you are getting your education about the big bang from a herder.

Response to more details:
It is impossible for matter and/or energy to not have existed forever. Something can't come from absolute nothing. The big difference between believing that the universe, in some form, has always existed and not a god is that we have evidence that the universe exists.

It started out... well, no one really knows because...

all right, let me alanogize for you. Imagine a balloon in your hand. completely deflated. The Universe's form before the Big Bang. Now, you blow up the balloon. Too much pressure makes a *pop*. However, it goes back to it's deflated form.

imagine that on a HUGE scale with the universe, constantly expanding and contracting just to do it again.

I agree that God created the Universe, but this is a pointless argument. You ask where did the material to for the Big Bang come from, they ask where did God come from. You say he's always existed, they say the material has always existed. IT'S POINTLESS!!!!

where did it come from? everywhere at the same time.
where did it all start? everywhere at the same time.
when did it all start? about 13.7 billion years ago estimating by radiation levels and expansion rates.
where does it end? that is unknown. it might not have an outside. it is still uncertain if it is open or closed. it might even be infinite. there is an event horizon beyond which we would be unable to measure. if it is infinite then it does not end and there might be no outside toit or it might be infinite but closed in which case it might not end but still have an outside. it confuses me and most people.
how big is it? that is related to where does it end?

God made it answers nothing.

it never started, nor will it end. it will continue to reorganize itself. we see this on a microcosmic scale everytime energy and matter take on a new form. i said earlier in a post that you are made up entirely of the food you have eaten. physically speaking, that is all you are. your emotions can be manipulated by poking parts of the brain, so we see that even those are just reactions of a biochemical nature. food => human. the human did not originate out of nothing because there was no god to invent it. it came from the transformation of food matter and energy into the form of a human. a better example of this is the developing foetus, which is made of food your mother eats.

And where did God come from mister?!?!

The answer to this question can never ever be known; and even if it is comprehended by somebody he will find it very hard to convey it to others.

There are a lot of phlosophies and theories in this regard. My suggestion is that you better do a "googlesearch" and you will come across a variety of comprehensive answers.

No one know how it all got here. Just because you don't know, doesn't make it okay to just make something up. If I say "the tooth fairy made it" then I have an answer. That doesn't make the answer correct.
