first you need to take your dog to the vet. he might have a tooth abcess that needs to be treated that you can't see. he could be in pain and you not know it. dogs need dentistry care the same way people do. while things to chew on, and tooth brushing will help prevent the amount of tarter and bacteria on the teeth, it will not keep your dog from needing a dental checkup. no matter what you do, harmful bacteria will accumulate on the teeth and if left there can cause kidney, liver and heart problems. your first step is a dental checkup, then a dental for you dog if the vet reccomends it, and then your vet will be able to tell you what you can do for your dog to help them maintain their teeth until the next checkup. good luck.
be careful with greenies, not all of the product digests if any. and can cause blockages, it's rare but has happend.

You may think I am crazy, but you need to go to Petsmart or a big store just for dogs and get him a toothbrush and some dog toothpaste! I brush all 4 of my dog's teeth every weekend. And they also sell a mouth spray for those special times when you have company. Your dog can't help it! But YOU can! Take care of it, Dude!

Well they have bones and toys that cleans a dogs teeth, and you should also be brushing his teeth. You might want to take him to the vet, because like humans dogs can have teeth probs.

I give my dogs chewing "bones" made of buffalo skin or something like that. It's highly recommended by my vet, it's very good against tartar and it automatically improves a dog's breath.
Give it two a week, or even a small one every day.
