I'm actually going through the same thing as you except that I am 20 years old.

First I want you to decide why you want to lose weight, is it truly for yourself or are you doing it to fit in? You have to be happy with your self, if you don't love yourself then nobody will. Even though I am overweight I know that I am a great person and I love myself. I want to lose weight to become healthier. You have to decide why you want to and get your heart into it.

Second you need to talk to your doctor. You are young and your body is developing, a doctor, specifically a dietian can help you with a healthy diet for your age.

Third don't try those fad diets because they can be harmful. Although Atkins diet might entice you don't do it. I did it and lost a lot of weight. It does help you lose weight quickly but not to maintain a healthy weight. As soon as I got off the diet I gained twice the weight back and was even more discouraged.

Follow the food guide pryamid. Watch your serving sizes. My mother always says everything in moderation. Drink 8 glasses of water daily. Not only does water clean your insides and leaves you feeling pure, it also leaves you full. Eat fruits and veggies and cut back on aslts and sweets.

Lastly you need to exercise. Don't do too much since your young but I suggest atleast taking night walk each day. Mix up your routine with cardio. Don't overdo yourself. Give your body time to rest in between exercises.

I hope this helped you. Another tip is to have a buddy who will encourage you on your diet progress. So if you ever need encouragement email me. I will be dieting as. I'm waiting for the new year so I can have a resolution.

Goodluck and be healthy.

First, you have to know that if you weren't teased about your weight, you'd be teased about your hair, clothes, etc. because that's what teens do. Teens say stupid things and with time they forget and regret for being so mean. Don't take the comments too personal, they probably have some problems of their own that they try to hide by teasing others.

Second, find a good book or surf the internet to find tips on what to wear / which haircut to have that suits best your body. With not much effort, you can appear slimmer.

Finally, before you start a diet, you should know that the faster you loose weight; the faster you can gain double of it! So be very careful which one you choose or you could be dieting the rest of your life.
The healthiest diet I know is the weight watchers program because they actually teach you how to eat well, and that's for life. You can eat whatever you want; you just have to control the amount. The first month is the hardest because you learn a new way of eating, then you loose about 5 pounds a month and after 6 – 12 months, you can loose all your extra weight.
Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, fish, drink water and milk…Drink Oolong tea (works only if you follow a healthy diet). Walk a lot.

You are only 14 so you should really find a specialist to help you. Try the school nurse or your doctor. Good luck and be positive!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

First of all, you have to check just how many pounds you have to lose. Fill up the required information here -> http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx and you'll know just how much weight you need to put off. The next step is to formulate an exercise plan that is "customized" to accustom your needs (don't overdo it though, you might get drastic results). And of course, cut back accordingly on your food intake (keeping a Food Diary to list down all the things you ate in one day might help) by taking less of sodas, popcorn, cakes, donuts, chocolates, and other high-fat/high-sugar foods and load up on veggies and fruits.

Keep in mind that discipline is key in weight loss. Don't take in too much food, but don't starve yourself either.

Realistically-speaking, I think it might take more than 3 months to lose 30 pounds. Nevertheless, take things slowly but surely, because I've heard one-too-many horror stories of crash weight loss gone wrong.

I hope this helps! Advanced Happy New Year! :)

At 14, 10 pounds a month is a bit too extreme. 5 pounds a month would probably work out better for you (closer to 1 pound/week).

You are a bit young to be dieting but the Atkins diet might be a safe way for you to loose some weight. Make sure your parents are involved so they can get you the right vitimins and essential oils that you will need and to monitor your health throughout the diet.

Try eating 6 small meals every 3hrs everyday, like baked fish & chicken, fruits and vegetables, drink 8 glasses of water everyday. do some fun exercise like play basketball and in between playing do some squating while holding the ball in front of you, alternate it with swimming and tennis or running 2 miles.
just do all the exercise 30 mins. everyday
