she has been straining a little bit for the past hour or so nothing major now ive just noticed blood does that mean the puppy will be born soon thanks

Has her water broke? If not, it may be an hour or two, but if it has you should have a puppy in the next 45 minutes. If she continues to strain with no puppies you will need to call a vet. Also, make sure that she delivers a placenta (kind of meaty chunk that is attached to the umbilical cord) with each puppy.

the puppy should be here soon. if this keeps up much longer you need to call an emergency clinic. and i just have to say as usual if you don't know what to expect why did you breed your dog?
