I have asthma and could never be a smoker, because the smell of smoke sends me into fits. Anyway, any prolonged cough is a turn-off, plus it isn't healthy for you.

Would you like licking your ashtray clean? Thats what it taste like to kiss someone who's a smoker when you're a non-smoker. You should definitely quit, as its a major turn off, the cough would drive a sane person crazy, and its bad for you! Yellow phlegm? Gross! I used to smoke, and I quit almost 2 years ago. One of the things that gave me initiative, is that I figured out on the calendar, at a pack a day, at $5 a pack, how much money I saved week by week. At 2 years time, I will have saved $3640, plus the days I've added onto not only mine, but my family's lives. Cold turkey is the best way!

It's your choice whether you want to smoke or not, but to me it sounds like your health is deteriating. Maybe that's part of the reason girls are turned off, a girl wants to grow old with someone, not grow old until forty and then become a widow and move on. I know lots of woman who smoke who don't have problem with smoking and maybe you should go with them, but I would recommend quitting because I'm sure your a nice guy with a family who will want you to be around for much longer. If your not going to quit, maybe slow down. Im sure your habit gets very expensive as well, so not only would you be saving money but you would be saving your life. Did you know every smoke cuts off seven minutes of your life? I personally am not attracted to chimney's and so no, im not super attracted to guys who smoke either. Not very many benefits to smoking, yellows your teeth, makes you smell, kills you and others around you. Honestly though, if your a nice guy, then a nice girl won't care if you smoke...at least right away. If she falls in love with you then she will probably try to get you to quit because she doesn't want to see you die or go through pain.
I wish you the best and hope things get better for you

Yes this is a turn off..It is a turn off for many reasons..Just to name a few its a turn off knowing that you let it get as far as having uncontrollable coughing and Flem..The smell is a turn off, the fact that you don't care about your body or the ones who love you enough to quit is a turn off, etc....
So please do your self a favor and stop smoking...You do know you can die a terrible death..Once cancer turns in to bone cancer when it spreads it is so painful you are on so much morphine you are not even awake enough to hold a conversation or understand a question..
And not to mention who would put all their feelings into someone that they don't know will be around for a long time to share their lives together due to his own actions!
I am not trying to be mean just trying to get you to understand the seriousness of this issue!

I just quit smoking a couple of years ago, myself. I wouldn't use the term "turn off" if it only bugs you at night. Annoying, though, yes. Sleeping with someone new is sometimes awkward enough without being woken up all night by coughing. It is a good idea to quit, but not because someone else is bothered by it. It doesn't work unless you're doing it just for yourself. I tried to quit for men for my parents & for my children. None of which worked. You have to do it for you. If a chick loves you, she'll stay regardless.

Bless your heart for asking...
YES... it is very irritating to hear repeated demonstrations of an irritated respiratory system that indicates that the hacker is not taking responsibility for his health and is coughing himself into an early grave. How could there be anything attractive about that?
Think seriously about quitting.... you sound like a nice guy and it is not too late to make healthy changes in your life. New Year's is just around the corner-- are you up for the biggest resolution of your life? (because kicking the nicko habit is harder than any other drug withdrawal)... are you up to it?
Hope so! All the Best!

No one likes to be wakened up that way. You should see a doctor. What you're describing as a smokers cough sounds like a possible bacterial infection. You should quit smoking. Save the money and do something memorable with it.

You are crazy, smoking when you have asthma, girls do not like smokers cough. Think of your health first before girls man, stop smoking and let your lungs clear. I too have asthma and don't touch smoking, as I know it will make my condition worse. Look after yourself dude.

Yes! A huge turn off! It sounds bad and smoke smells bad. Girls want a guy who smells good and who kisses at night not hack up yellow stuff at night! You really should quit smoking. Quit for yourself, to be healthy.
