I'm live in California, America
I'm goin to Australia for 20 days with 26 other students
we are goin all over australia
i've never been out of the country
so
a bit nervous
i believe we are goin in July/August
also for 3 days i'm staying with a family
wat my questions are...
what is the culture?
what would be an appropiate gift for the family that will take me in?
i live in OC soo OC jacket or no???
what is the weather like?
and umm i love ur accents
although that's not really a question haha

Winter in Australia is in June, July & August...so expect some cold and rainy days, but also fine weather too. Our winter is very mild compared to the U.S.
We are very friendly and laidback...and usually very easy going.
Regarding a gift for your host family...maybe something that is unique to California, perhaps. Your parents might have some ideas.
You will love our climate, our beautiful natural scenery, our unique animals...kangaroos and koalas (which are the cutest things you will ever see). Hope you get to see some.
Don't be nervous...we don't bite.
Hope you have lots of fun and adventures while you are 'Down Under'.

Im from canada and i lived there 4 a year in 1999. i was there for a year and i still didnt get to do everything i wanted to. It is an amazing place and 20 days is far from being long enough. youll want to go back. As for a gift, bring something that you would like if you were having a guest from some other state in the USA. there not horrable different. they are like the coolest enlish speacking people youll ever meet. july/aug is there winter, its still very hot in the day time, but nights and mornings feel quite cold, sepecially down south.

oooh cool. well livin in Aus is all good. great beaches, good people, good weather. i live in Melbourne so im a city slicker. if you're in Melbourne visit the city and Lygon Street (popular street with mostly Italian restaurants). you say you'll be in Aus by July/Aug. so the season would be Autumn. not sure bout a greeting gift. although yes most aussie teens LOVE the show THE OC. well that's all i can say. so have a great time and good luck.

it is FANTASTIC you will love it here.. friendly people yes a oc jacket sounds cooool i think any gift you give em should be great!!! they will love it.
the weather is different in all states at the moment we are in summer and it is soooo hot!!
you will be here July august should be warm in all states except Victoria maybe coldish not real cold tho have fun when you come you will enjoy
