Yes, I agree! It is an honor that God would think highly enough of me to place me in this day and age! And not only did he place me here but he gave me five children to raise for him also! Talk about a challenge! That it is why I'm so thankful that God is faithful and never changing. And I'm thankful for his son Jesus who is my strength. Well, thank you for reminding me just how much God values, loves and trust me enough to specifically choose this day and age for me to live in. This generation of lost souls, hardened hearts, and manipulated minds! And yet I still choose to believe! And always will! Thanks!

He said He was an unchanging God
(Malachi 3:6) For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
and
(Hebrews 13:8) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

i agree. God and Jesus has been the same ever since time began, and always will be the same loving, caring, and perfect Father
for the last point, thats why most people dont like Christianity. they dont like the idea of no longer being in control. when your born again, 'Jesus takes the wheel'
can i get an AMEN? =)

David you are right Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. I cannot imagine giving up what God has offered in love so freely but then again I know Him so it is different for us who have a relationship with Him. I feel sorry for this perverse generation of vipers.

A free-thinking secular humanist does not change with times -- he has a purpose -- to make peace when he can. His words don't matter, because when he sees the devil in a person, he knows that he needs to negotiate with him. To an atheist, he'll talk about value systems and ethics and to a Christian, he'll talk about Christ's message. He doesn't keep score of the words -- he keeps score of how many people thought about peace because of what he said. He knows that there are many paths leading to God.
If my argument about many paths is wrong:
Why is it that only the jews were blessed with God's word and message? Why is it that He created an entire earth full of people but decided to save only a handful of them -- irrespective of whether they burn and kill others -- the only criterion for being saved being "did they call Jesus their savior"?
Why is it that 90% of the population of the earth that has ever been born on this earth -- never heard of Jesus? Are they all in Hell? What kind of God judges on the basis of how much someone flattered Him? If He is indeed like that -- your God sounds like the God of the occultists and pagans who believed all their sins will be paid for by sacrificing one (in your case Jesus).
I do believe in God -- but He is someone who'd judge me for what I do as opposed to what I believe. If I am to be judged solely on the basis of what I believe instead of how many people I hurt, I suppose the modern day psychiatrists and atheists are doing a good job of judging people already.
If I am deluded -- so be it. I'd rather be a deluded secular humanist than a person who goes against Christ's word of "judge not ...."
I find hypocrisy in your words -- you don't follow your teacher's words -- but only call out His name in vain. But maybe I am just delusional -- maybe what Christ really wanted was that His followers go and tell everyone around that they were going to Hell and make them even more rigid in their outlook. Maybe Christ wanted crusades to happen. It's only my delusion that He taught about peace.

If your God concept is correct, then "God" is a Being of infinite intelligence with NO limits. INFINITE... That means God can create a PERFECT universe also with FREE WILL that has NO EVIL. But look around as evil abounds. The only conclusion is that your idea of God cannot exist.
That is the cold hard logical truth.

I don't think god changes with the times
I know (through my study of human history - as a studying anthropologist) that the idea of god and religion has evolved a great deal since human beings first began toying with the notion.

Who is "G-d" do you mean "God". There are many Gods that are all different. What God are you referring to, their is only one God and he go by his name he gave men 6823 times in the Bible and it's Yah HaYah or believe to be Yahweh.
